Accordists focus on long term peace and prosperity in the Middle East, as embodied by our Recognition Index which measures recognition of Israel over the past seventy (‘threescore and ten’) years, and that Index is in 2024 at its highest level.

Around the World people are concerned and follow closely the many conflicts in the Middle East region in particular involving lands lost to Arab countries following 1967 – the Golan Heights (Syria), Gaza (Egypt) and the West Bank (Jordan) and some nations recognize these territories as ‘Palestine’.

So one plausible solution is a regional approach, as demonstrated by the return of the Sinai to Egypt in 1979.

On the other hand many see a ‘Two State Solution’ as the ideal framework for resolving that conflict long term, where Israel and a Palestinian state will live side-by-side in peace and prosperity.  The likelihood is that this can only be achieved under certain conditions on the ground, notably an end to the threat to Israel’s existence.

Therefore the evolving perspectives of the people of the region and their leaders is important, even as accurate data may be hard to secure with confidence.

Accordists seek to raise awareness generally.  And as part of that we will provide here a respectful platform for republishing articles discussing different, sometimes contradictory, perspectives on the ‘Two State Solution’ approach and others.
